DNREC gives a statewide rut timing with no study, sample or years attached. Its 2010 deer management plan says breeding runs from October to about mid December, with most does bred in mid November. Its news releases put the peak at November 10 to 20 (2021) and November 11 to 20 (2022).
The card above follows DNREC: one statewide window, November 10 to 20, with no county split, since DNREC gives none. The rut itself runs from mid to late October into December, with bucks pursuing does the whole time, so expect rut activity on both sides of the peak.

Delaware hunters reported about 16,700 deer in the 2025 to 2026 season, about 4,800 of them antlered. That was 11 percent below the record set the season before, but still among the top five since modern deer seasons began in 1954.
Sussex County led the state with about 8,600 deer. On Division of Fish and Wildlife land, Midlands Wildlife Area near Laurel led with about 170.

The Division of Fish and Wildlife manages about 68,000 acres in 19 public wildlife areas open to hunting. Vehicles on designated wildlife areas need a Conservation Access Pass, and firearm deer hunting on some ground, including Augustine, Cedar Swamp and Blackbird State Forest, is by daily lottery.
The Delaware Forest Service runs Blackbird, Redden and Taber state forests, with no Sunday hunting. Several tracts, including Woodland Beach Wildlife Area, Cedar Swamp outside its Rocks tract, four Redden tracts and Killens Pond State Park, are Quality Buck Areas, where a buck needs at least a 15 inch outside spread.

A date on a calendar can't tell you which spot to sit. RackIQ weighs the rut phase for your part of Delaware against the wind, your way in, the pressure already on the ground and what you've seen there, then says hunt it or save it. The Scored Call™ is checked afterward, and every hunt you log makes the next call sharper.
